Thursdays Thoughts
Some of the comments have been very good and full of insight. I hope you all have read the passage and begun allowing the Holy Spirit to enlighten you. I want to leave with you all this thought for today concerning the lesson. Reread the passage again only this time know that the in the passage right before Jesus is commenting how true godly living is based on the internal side of man, not the external. The barriers of race, culture and gender are surface issues. Interesting to note that the gospels only refer to "great faith" twice. Once for this woman and the other instance in Matthew 8:5-13. Both individuals were gentiles. Hmmmm!

I believe this is an excellent example of what I have always believed to be true. We do not know what is in the hearts of other people. Our faith in Jesus is exactly that... our faith. When one professess to be a Christian, then we believe it to be true because they said it. But, we dont truly know what is in ther heart do we? Jesus knows- Jesus knew that the centurion believed in Him and his powers.
PEACE!
